Mathias Currat

I am merging my passions for Biology and Computer science in my professional activities! I am teaching and leading a research on the evolution of genetic diversity in populations at the University of Geneva. I specialize in the development of computational approaches to study the combined effects of various evolutionary forces on molecular diversity, such as population dynamics, migration and admixture.

• Various research projects in computational population genetics focusing on the influence of demography and natural selection on genetic diversity.
• Development of eco-evolutionary simulation programs, such as SPLATCHE3 and SELECTOR.
• Lecturer in "Evolution" and "Biologie humaine" and "Master course in Genetics, Development and Evolution".
• In charge (with J. Nunes) of the annual course "Computer skills for biological research".
• Co-organization of the annual courses "Methodologie de la recherche en biologie" and "Molecular Population Genetics".

• Web development and consulting, mainly for Cybermedia concepts (Geneva).
• Creation and development of the software SPLATCHE, in collaboration with the CMPG lab at the University of Bern, Switzerland
